Finally, a new business contract!

Well, after possibly four years working new business trying to sell a new satellite design, that day finally arrived. Read about it here. The satellite is to be the first of a whole new spacecraft lineage...a 702B which is the evolution of our original Boeing 702.

Atypical Lullaby

Liz has discovered a fairly reliable means of calming Anneliese and/or getting her to sleep in the car: playing "Chunky" by Will I Am from the Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa movie. Pretty comical.

Here are some lyrics...
"I Like em big, I Like em chunky,
I like em big, I like em plumpy"

Recent Ethan Quote

"I pray for my my [sic] sister to play with her toys." --Ethan
(as written by his Sunday school teacher in a
folded piece of paper cut to look like praying hands)

Thanks for the Video Recommendation Aunt Kris!

Well we took the advice of Aunt Kris and got a copy of The Letter Factory. Ethan's been addicted and asks to watch first thing every morning. It's definitely well designed as it's captured his interest and we are seeing results. Both Ethan and Daddy get a kick out of the disfigured letter that looks like a pile of goo that makes a weird sound. Only Daddy thinks about the letter being taken out back and euthanized.

Grand Prix of Long Beach

I went to check out the Grand Prix of Long Beach for the first time with some work buddies. We went on Free Friday and saw various vehicle classes take to the track.

Apparently Ethan Inherited Asthma

Ethan had another bad bout of incessant coughing followed up by a nap in which he was breathing 50 breaths a minute. We took him to the ER and they put him through the same stuff as November of last year: nebulizer, oral steroids, and a shot of steroids...this time in the thigh instead of the butt. Good thing I didn't promise him there wouldn't be a shot (the questions started as soon as we told him we were taking him to the hospital). It appears that his attacks are triggered either by horrible exposure to irritants (November 2008) or cold/flu symptoms so for now it looks like he doesn't need any daily treatment.

Poirier Family Dominance at Go-kart Racing

I took a crew to K1 Speed Indoor Kart Racing for a birthday celebration. This is a pretty cool joint...indoors and the cars are electric and accelerate like crazy. You can see a sample video here. I had the fastest lap time during the practice, qualifying, and final race but couldn't resist pushing the envelope during the final race and managed to wipe out on the fourth lap. I finished the race 2nd, right behind my dad! Didn't sleep good that night and the next morning found giant bruises on both sides of my back from being thrown into the sides of the seat during each turn.
